Go to TopSetup Files

Since version 2.12, nPOPuk has been able to read the "Internet Setup files" that your Internet Service Provider may provide. These files, with the extension .ins, typically contain the POP3 and SMTP server IP addresses, as well as your e-mail address. Some even contain your password (in clear text!). Starting in version 3.00, nPOPuk can also handle .ins files that prompt you for necessary information that is not contained in the file itself. The nPOPuk development team has assembled a few sample setup files for a range of mail providers. These contain the server information, but, of course, not your username, password and other personal data.

NOTE: Current versions of Windows have an automatic action associated with files ending in .ins; take care not to inadvertently double-click on one of these files!

Developers are encouraged to read the User Guide for information on how to create .ins files and to submit them, via the Forum.

Go to TopSSL Dynamic Links Libraries

Though SSL support is now built into the various versions of nPOPuk, some users may prefer to have SSL support through DLLs. (In some cases, the DLLs are already present for other applications and can be shared with nPOPuk; or perhaps newer DLLs are available.) nPOPuk requires one additional wrapper, npopssl.dll, which can be downloaded direct from Tomoaki's (Japanese) site, via the links below:

Win32 (For Windows 95, 98, Me, NT4, 2000, XP)
npopssl002win32.zip (540kb)

Windows CE 3.0, Pocket PC (StrongARM, XScale)
npopssl002arm.zip (484kb)

Windows CE 3.0, Pocket PC (MIPS)
npopssl002mips.zip (619kb)

Windows CE 3.0, Pocket PC (SH-3)
npopssl002sh3.zip (522kb)

The following archive contains only the npopssl.dll wrapper for the ARM, MIPS, SH-3 and SH-4 platforms.

Windows CE 2.11

Go to TopSource Files

The source code for nPOPuk v3.03 is combined in a single archive for all the supported platforms.

npopuk303p1_source.zip (808kb)

In addition, SSL/TLS support (in the versions that include it) is courtesy of The OpenSSL Project, using OpenSSL 1.0.1i (for desktops and laptops running Windows XP, Vista, 7) or OpenSSL 0.9.8x (for mobile platforms); a snapshot of that code is archived here.

openssl-1.0.1i.tar.gz (6060kb)

openssl-0.9.8x.tar.gz (3694kb)

More recent source code may be available here, but compiled libraries (or DLLs) are not available from the OpenSSL Project.

The SSLv3 protocol supports compression, which is built in using code from http://www.zlib.net/; a snapshot of that code is archived here.

zlib123.zip (571kb)

For Windows CE platforms (HPC, PPC, SP), the wcecompat library is also required. It used to be available from http://www.essemer.com.au/windowsce but that site is now inactive. The source code we used is here:

wcecompat-1.2.zip (82kb)

Go to TopOffline Web Site Files

The web site covering the earlier v3.00, with the exception of the downloads, is available for offline perusal in your web browser. A substitute downloads page, which requires you to be online before it is successful, is included for convenience.
