PocketPrimer.com - From my pocket to yours . . .
In her blog Prof Julie, a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional, lists a dozen reasons why she likes nPOPuk as a "powerful, full featured email alternative to the messaging software that is currently included on windows mobile devices". Strangely, she goes on to say, "The user interface is a bit clunky ... so there was a large learning curve to overcome before I could say I enjoyed using the software."
It's true that in the past this site hasn't fully supported platforms other than Win32, but we're working on that. In the mean time some working on hand held devices will find her installation guide useful.
Smartphone Magazine Best Software Award 2008
nPOPuk was included in the nominations for Smartphone Magazine Best Software Award 2008. It didn't win, but then one of the judges seemed to think it didn't support SSL, but it always has done, and another said the "Web site needs to be improved greatly", but the site documented in the magainze was not the current site. All very curious!Tiny USB Office
Not an award as such, but we were pleased to see that when xtort.net, the compilers of the old Floppy Office suite, expanded the suite to become Tiny USB Office they continued to include nPOPuk as the only e-mail client in the package. Here's what they say about nPOPuk:"nPOPuk is a full featured email client (a far improved version of the brilliant nPOP itself), which as it is, can almost replace MS Outlook Express. It supports authentication, address book, multiple POP accounts and much more!"
ITM praktiker
"nPOPuk is the best of its category and platform for the year 2007 as a result of the test experience of the experts in the field of hand-held software of the editorial staff of ITM praktiker (Austria)."NOTE: This award was made for nPOP108uk5.
Earlier Awards
Various earlier versions of nPOP, supported by this site, were granted awards by the same magazine in 2005 and 2006.
