Welcome!
nPOPuk is an ultra-small, but comprehensive, e-mail client that runs on a wide range of Windows-based operating systems.
nPOPuk (v2.16) now bears little relation to Tomoaki Nakashima's original nPOP. The additional facilities are described on the Features page. To achieve these improvements, the structure of the data files had to be changed and they are not backwards-compatible with the original program. This accounts for the decision to change the name. nPOPuk was chosen as it was programmed and compiled by a group co-ordinated from the UK.
Hand Held Users
Although this site primarily documents the Win32 version of nPOPuk, members of the development team have been developing a set of hints and tips for Pocket PC (PPC) and SmartPhone (SP) users. Throughout this site, the "Tip for Windows Mobile" button will take you to relevant pages.
In addition there is our Forum that has many subscribers using a variety of hand held platforms. It is rare for hand held user's question not to get an answer that solves their problem.
Credits
Greg Chapman discovered nPOP on 2 November 2002. As a user of the Win32 version of the program he believed it deserved reasonable English documentation so he created this site a month later. He has no knowledge of the other platforms for which the program is available and his own programming experience is limited to a fading memory of Z80 Assembler and DOS Batch files.
Soon volunteer programmers emerged. They have further developed the application into today's nPOPuk. Credit to all these volunteers appear on the Development History page! Thanks to them nPOPuk is now regarded by many as the premier multi-platform portable e-mail application.
